Big bank earnings, the September inflation report and a string of Fed speeches fill the week of Monday, October 12 through Friday, October 16. Here is what is scheduled, day by day, with the source for each item. All times are Eastern. Where only one source confirmed an item, we say so.

The Cleveland Fed's nowcast, as reported by Saxo, is +0.5% on the month and 3.6% over 12 months, with core at +0.2% and 2.4%. AlphaEdge, citing MarketWatch, lists +0.6% and 3.7% for the headline and +0.2% and 2.5% for core, against 3.4% and 2.4% last month. Seeking Alpha says economists expect core inflation of 2.4%. Trend & Ticker reports gasoline averaged $4.36 a gallon in September, up 7.3% from August (per Trend & Ticker).
