Oil fell early Tuesday: Brent crude futures declined 1.49% to $105.06 a barrel and WTI fell 1.86% to about $92 (CNBC). WSJ said prices pulled back after three straight sessions of gains.
Why prices are moving
CNBC said investors weighed more Russian diesel reaching global markets, while concerns over the Saudi-Houthi conflict limited the decline. President Trump defended easing restrictions on Russian diesel supplies for six months despite criticism from lawmakers in both parties (CNBC). Reuters also tied Tuesday's drop to the prospect of extra diesel from Russia and to supply risks after attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Brent settled at $106.65 on Monday, up 1.8% (AP). For the background, see the midday oil story from Monday and the Kremlin ceasefire update, plus our Russian diesel story.
