US stocks were mixed on Monday afternoon as oil reached its highest level in almost two weeks and technology shares fell ahead of bank earnings and inflation data (Reuters, AP).

The numbers

At 2:16 PM ET the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.34% at 51,830.46, the S&P 500 down 0.13% at 7,801.03 and the Nasdaq Composite down 0.46% at 27,240.09 (Reuters). AP had the Dow up 175 points, or 0.3%, as of 2:09 PM, and the Nasdaq down 0.5%.

Oil

Reuters says US crude futures jumped more than 2% and Brent was above $106 a barrel after the weekend strikes on Riyadh's airport, which overshadowed the prospect of more Russian diesel. Our midday oil story has the background.
